Job Description

Overview

We are looking for experienced Commercial DX & Hydronic Pipefitters to join our team at a mechanical contractor in the Austin area. The role involves installing and repairing various commercial mechanical piping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install various types of pipe utilizing blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Measure and cut various sizes of pipe and tubing to required angle/length using pipe power tools
  • Thread and assemble all types of pipe and tubing including PVC, Copper, Black Pipe, and steel piping
  • Install and braze DX refrigerant piping systems
  • Install hydronic and chilled water piping systems
  • Connect piping systems with fittings, tack welding, or threaders
  • Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges according to plans and specifications
  • Test pipes to ensure proper functionality and safety
  • Repair defective pipe and mechanical systems
  • Perform all other job duties as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of recent verifiable commercial pipefitting experience
  • Experience with DX refrigerant piping and/or hydronic piping systems preferred
  • Experience installing pipe in commercial and industrial buildings
  • Personal hand tools required
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work overtime if requested
