Overview

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Power Plant Stationary Engineer to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of hospital utility systems. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and a range of benefits aimed at supporting employees' well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and takes corrective action.
  • Servicing and repairing hospital utility and equipment systems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and updates tasks.
  • Responds to service requests and documents actions taken.
  • Inspects, repairs, and installs components of the hospital utility system.
  • Assists with snow and ice removal as required.
  • Responds to fire alarms.
  • Works with outside contractors on hospital equipment projects.

Requirements

  • Valid City of Chicago Stationary Engineer License.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of position-related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of steam generation and refrigeration principles.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Additional Information

  • Full-time position, 80 hours per pay period, day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Vacation relief position requiring availability for 2nd and 3rd shift coverage.
  • Union position under Local 399.
