Overview

Strange Engineering is seeking an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist or Tool & Die Machinist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of manual machining experience and be able to operate a Clausing 600 Series Colchester engine lathe with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Make precision parts from blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Modify existing parts to meet specifications.
  • Assist in building fixtures and tooling.
  • Set up and operate a Clausing 600 Series Colchester manual lathe.
  • Machine precision parts to close tolerances.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work independently while maintaining quality and productivity.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Manual Lathe Machinist, Tool & Die Machinist, or Conventional Lathe Machinist.
  • Experience operating a Clausing 600 Series Colchester manual lathe preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
