Overview

Thompson Pipe Group is a family-owned company specializing in infrastructure products, seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to ensure quality in their Pressure products through inspections, testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Check project specs and the TPG Quality Manual.
  • Calibrate gauges and review drawings.
  • Plan inspections with production and operations.
  • Qualify welders and log results.
  • Prepare samples for lab processing.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections for BLE, SPP, and Fittings components.
  • Perform NDE/NDT and coordinate with outside exam vendors.
  • Close out QC documentation and update nonconformance logs.
  • Coach newer team members and align with engineering and project management.

Requirements

  • AWS CWI certification required.
  • Background in QA, QC, or production within a related industry.
  • Experience in concrete, civil, coatings, welding, or NDE/NDT.
  • Level I/equivalent trainee or certified in areas such as ACI Field Testing, NDE/NDT MT, PT, RT, UT, VT, NACE/SPCC Coating Inspection, or API 510/570/577.
  • Level II/equivalent preferred in any of the above.
  • High school diploma or GED; trade school in a related technology a plus.
  • STEM associate’s or bachelor’s degree welcomed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
