Overview

The Maintenance Tech III position involves repairing and maintaining all recycling facility equipment, including heavy mobile equipment and conveyors, while performing preventive maintenance tasks. The role requires troubleshooting and repairing various systems to minimize downtime and improve operations.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all recycling facility equipment including heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, ballers, and shredders.
  • Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and industrial recycling equipment.
  • Perform repair work on hydraulics, electronic/electrical systems, mechanical repairs, and basic fabrication.
  • Complete work orders and keep detailed notes of repairs performed.
  • Identify necessary parts for repairs.
  • Research and source part/equipment replacements using computers/internet.
  • Work in multiple positions for extended durations including kneeling, bending, and elevated in lifts.
  • Observe all safety requirements and lead by example in working safely.
  • Give and receive constructive feedback for coaching.
  • Work various shifts if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by maintenance and operations management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of verifiable experience in industrial troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment.
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities and build consensus.
  • Work with integrity and uphold organizational values.
  • Must have your own basic hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.

Additional Information

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled production facility.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 - 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
