Overview

The Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment position involves performing preventive maintenance and repairs on food equipment and facilities. The role requires a combination of technical skills and compliance with safety regulations to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair equipment and fixtures.
  • Document signs of wear and tear and determine replacement needs.
  • Conduct major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills.
  • Diagnose issues by inspecting, operating, and testing equipment.
  • Dismantle machines to access and remove defective parts.
  • Utilize blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Respond to emergency calls and document repair activities.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors.
  • Conduct price comparisons of parts and travel-related costs.
  • Order parts and replacement equipment, track orders, and submit costs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for business-critical needs.
  • Operate heavy machinery and perform safety checks.
  • Maintain company vehicles and coordinate required maintenance.
  • Submit maintenance invoices for payment and verify vehicle insurance.
  • Lead and participate in teams to achieve work quality and timelines.
  • Develop and implement processes to meet business needs.
  • Promote compliance with company policies and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area, or 4 years’ experience in the same fields.
  • License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
