Overview

The Field Service Technician II position involves a higher level of responsibility in performing and assisting with major component exchanges for wind turbines. This role requires a solid understanding of wind turbine operations and mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as a proactive approach to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist in major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and nacelle components.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on turbine systems.
  • Perform detailed inspections and preventative maintenance on wind turbines.
  • Lead small teams or mentor Field Service Technician Is on jobsites.
  • Ensure all service work is completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of safety.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including part usage and job performance.
  • Participate in regular safety briefings and uphold a strong safety culture at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; specialized training in wind turbine technology or related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance or a related field.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing wind turbine systems.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Required to travel to different jobsites on a limited notice.
  • Proven ability to work in a safety-first environment with proactive safety behaviors.
