Overview

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Machine Tool Maintenance Technician B to join their global team focused on innovation and sustainability. The role involves the repair, maintenance, and alignment of precision industrial machine tools, contributing to the company's mission of building a better world.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety programs and regulations.
  • Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair precision industrial machine tool malfunctions.
  • Determine the sequence of operations and procedures for skilled maintenance functions.
  • Plan the disassembly, reassembly, repair, and replacement of machine components.
  • Record and document all changes to precision industrial machine tools.
  • Perform functional and diagnostic tests to determine root causes of malfunctions.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and alignment checks in all machine axis planes.
  • Determine required replacement parts using machine tool drawings and manuals.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications to determine machine tool requirements.
  • Utilize Computer Maintenance Management System for tracking work orders.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly use hand-tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Perform the work of Maintenance Technicians (A, B, C, D) as required.

Requirements

  • More than 5 years of precision industrial machine tool experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Industrial Technology Certification or equivalent is recommended.
  • Familiarity with machine tool controllers and diagnostic test equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite software applications.
