Overview

SIG is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Engineering Technician to join their manufacturing team in Northlake. In this role, the technician will be responsible for assembling mechanical equipment and ensuring all assemblies meet quality standards and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head of Sales Operations to understand forecasting bottlenecks and inconsistencies.
• Assemble mechanical equipment, machinery, and components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to ensure accurate assembly.
• Perform inspections and quality checks throughout the assembly process.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and assembly machinery safely.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues during assembly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve assembly processes.
• Document assembly activities, including labor time and materials used.
• Follow company safety procedures and participate in safety training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training, vocational education, or certification in mechanical assembly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly or a similar role.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous learning.
