Overview

SGS is a global leader in inspection, verification, testing, and certification services, recognized for quality and integrity. As a Machine Shop Technician, you will be responsible for preparing test specimens and materials for laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare testing materials and specimens after receiving them from the customer.
  • Process and follow test preparation and testing procedures to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to staff and engineers.
  • Maintain and clean laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Crosstrain in other departments as needed.
  • Communicate with staff and supervision to ensure proper order processing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 0-2 years related experience and/or training in the field.
  • Associate's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
