Overview

The RS Cabinet Finisher III position at GAC Dallas involves preparing, applying, and touching up finishes on aircraft furniture while mentoring and training other cabinet finishers. Candidates should have experience in wood finishing processes, preferably in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex high quality repairs to finished surfaces of aircraft furniture in the shop and on-board aircraft.
  • Apply finish to furniture using spray equipment and other manual/mechanical methods.
  • Interpret material specifications to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements.
  • Coordinate with Design group to ensure compliance with customer approved design samples.
  • Comply with and champion Safety, 5S and housekeeping.
  • Mentor and train lesser skilled technicians.
  • Develop and implement process improvements using Lean Six-Sigma tools.
  • Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and sign-off work.
  • Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements.
  • Accept Lead responsibilities when needed.
  • Conduct safety audits and assist team members in doing safety audits.
  • Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs.
  • Develop YI@W (Your Ideas at Work) as opportunities present themselves.
  • Assist in monthly 5S audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years experience in wood finishing processes.
  • Knowledge of cabinet finishing processes and products.
  • Experience in aerospace industry preferred.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection, process specifications and terminology.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
