Overview

PCL is seeking experienced Mechanical Pipefitters to join their team in Arizona, offering an hourly pay range of $33.00 to $38.00 based on experience. The role involves contributing to various projects by installing and maintaining piping systems while ensuring safety and compliance with project specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, fit, fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems and components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, isometric drawings, layouts, specifications, elevations, and project documents.
  • Install valves, fittings, pipe supports, hangers, anchors, pumps, strainers, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Perform field fit-ups and support welding activities to ensure piping systems meet project requirements.
  • Verify dimensions, alignment, elevations, and system routing prior to installation.
  • Conduct hydrostatic, pneumatic, and other pressure testing activities in accordance with project specifications and procedures.
  • Assist with system cleaning, flushing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, cutting equipment, and material handling devices.
  • Receive, inspect, organize, and maintain materials and equipment required for construction activities.

Requirements

  • Safety certifications (OSHA) a plus.
  • At least 1 year of experience in water/wastewater treatment plants or heavy civil construction is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Pipefitter or Mechanical Pipefitter.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work overhead.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, piping isometrics, and P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of pipe installation practices, rigging fundamentals, and pressure testing procedures.
  • Should be able to navigate through the worksite daily.
  • Occasionally climbs up and down ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places, and in excavated areas.
  • Wear fall protection, respirators, and other PPE as required.
