Fluor is a leading government contractor committed to fostering a collaborative work environment. The HC - Operator - Paver role involves operating concrete pavers and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Perform cleanup duties and material handling and storage.
  • Identify, use, and care for common hand and power tools.
  • Use and care of craft-specific tools and equipment.
  • Apply craft-related mathematics and safety standards.
  • Operate concrete pavers, specifically with Stringless Paving and Gomaco/Wirtgen Paving Equipment.
  • Navigate and run the concrete paver while confirming deck path and grade.
  • Spread wet concrete across the desired paving path.
  • Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair paving equipment.
  • Control paving machines to maintain a constant flow of materials.
  • Observe distribution of paving material and adjust machine settings.
  • Coordinate truck dumping and drive machines onto truck trailers.
  • Operate machines to spread, smooth, level, or steel-reinforce materials.
  • Control traffic and operate tamping machines or manually roll surfaces.
  • Drive and operate curbing machines and clean or cut expansion joints.
  • Set up forms and lay out guidelines for curbs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Portland Cement Concrete Paving Operations.
  • Experience with Stringless Paving and Gomaco/Wirtgen Paving Equipment.
  • GPS (Trimble) experience.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work at varying heights and recognize safety hazards.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity to perform work tasks.
