Overview

The QC Inspector-Structural position at Hanwha Philly Shipyard involves performing inspections and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and quality standards. The role requires effective communication and coordination with various departments to maintain quality control in shipbuilding.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with HPSI safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform inspections and witness tests as required by Hanwha Philly Shipyard procedures.
  • Prepare reports and quality records in compliance with Hanwha Philly Shipyard procedures.
  • Coordinate QC work with other departments such as start-up, engineering, and outfitting.
  • Finalize remedies with class for any identified issues.
  • Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and functionality per requirements.
  • Perform incoming inspections on materials in conjunction with material control staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience in discipline or 5 years’ professional welding experience.
  • AWS CWI Certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of shipbuilding is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ABS and DNV rules is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NDE Testing processes (ASNT Certification preferred).
  • Knowledge of testing/inspection equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a must.
  • Ability to communicate with Production team, Owner, & Class Society representatives.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications is a plus.
