Overview

GHD is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their Maritime and Coastal practice in Houston, Texas. The role involves assisting with the design and analysis of waterfront projects across the US, providing an opportunity to develop engineering skills and work on diverse projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design and analysis of Maritime & Coastal and Transportation projects under supervision.
  • Design waterfront infrastructure and facilities for various clients.
  • Provide calculations and develop drawings or sketches.
  • Write technical reports summarizing design and findings.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Maintain open communication with project team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus from an accredited university.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the industry.
  • Previous internship related to the industry and understanding of marine design is a plus.
  • FE or capability to acquire it.
  • Working knowledge of engineering codes and guidelines such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Mathcad, and Autodesk suite 2016 or newer.
  • Ability to assist with condition assessment and field investigation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, including report writing.
