Job Description

Overview

Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects is seeking a Heavy Civil Inspector (Structures) to inspect concrete structures and ensure compliance with construction standards. The role involves collaboration with engineers and project managers to transform capital project execution while maintaining safety and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect concrete structures and associated items such as bridges, retaining walls, and culverts.
  • Ensure compliance with approved plans and construction safety standards.
  • Review structure shop drawings for compliance with contractual documents.
  • Conduct field inspections to clarify plans when necessary.
  • Communicate with the Engineer of Record, clients, or contractors regarding constructability reviews.
  • Make recommendations for changes during constructability reviews and support the RFI process.
  • Attend weekly on-site construction meetings.
  • Provide photo or video documentation of inspections.
  • Participate in seminars and training courses to stay updated on industry developments.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and supervisors.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Building Construction, or an Associate’s degree with additional experience.
  • EIT and 5 years of related professional experience, or 5 years of verified structural inspection experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verified structural inspection experience.
  • Knowledge of Caltrans and Metro inspection certifications is a plus.
  • Highway experience, specifically with Caltrans, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with standard plans, specifications, and construction manuals.
  • Verbal, written, and oral communication skills with multitasking ability.
  • Team player with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Relevant certifications such as CMIT, ACI, NICET, APWA are advantageous.
