Job Description

Overview

SOCOTEC is a provider of niche consulting services within the architecture, engineering, and construction industries, focusing on high-performance buildings and specialty structures. They are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to assist in structural investigations, analyses, and repair design.

Responsibilities

  • Review structural designs for code compliance.
  • Conduct structural analysis, document review, and research for root cause evaluation.
  • Perform on-site inspections and collect data, which may require multi-day travel.
  • Prepare reports and repair details.
  • Attend the office regularly located at the Wrigley Building, 410 N Michigan Ave.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in the design and/or investigation of structures.
  • Experience in the investigation of structural failures and/or preparation of reports for attorney clients preferred.
  • Licensure – EIT minimum, working towards SE licensure.
