Overview

The Structural Technician is responsible for converting job-related information into drawings according to established design and drafting standards. They should have a working knowledge of structural systems and assist Structural Engineers or Designers in identifying discrepancies in plans and details.

Responsibilities

  • Produce drawings and building models while applying established production standards.
  • Extract relevant information from models/plans of other disciplines and implement structural requirements.
  • Conduct field surveys.
  • Review shop drawings as directed.
  • Develop working knowledge of analysis and plan production software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Assist with engineering administrative activities.
  • Support miscellaneous projects and general administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Drafting or an Engineering related curriculum is encouraged, though not required.
  • Must have appropriate continuing education.
  • Knowledgeable in Revit.

  • Position primarily supports the Chicago office, with a preference for candidates in the Chicago area.
  • Open to candidates in the Milwaukee or Madison areas.
  • Hybrid work schedule with 4 days in office and 1 day remote.
