Responsibilities

  • Performs MIG, TIG, and flux-core welds on pressure-retaining components with minimal supervision.
  • Holds active Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) under ASME Section IX.
  • Reads and interprets fabrication drawings, ASME weld symbols, WPS documents, and shop travelers.
  • Performs fit-up and tacking of boiler pressure in compliance with ASME dimensional tolerances.
  • Monitors and verifies preheat and inter-pass temperatures prior to and during welding.
  • Identifies and corrects weld discontinuities prior to NDE examination hold points.
  • Supports preparation for Authorized Inspector hold points including joint fit-up verification.
  • Maintains complete and accurate weld traceability records.
  • Assists in hydrostatic pressure test preparation.
  • Mentors Welder I personnel on structural welding techniques and shop safety practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical Trade School preferred.
  • 1+ years' experience in welding.

What you'll be running
