Overview

Key Technology is a global leader in the design and manufacture of food processing technology, seeking a Welder to fabricate stainless steel equipment used in food processing. The position involves using engineering drawings to build parts and equipment, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety while performing welding tasks.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Follow instructions from the Production Supervisor.
  • Measure component dimensions for accuracy in welding.
  • Operate basic welding equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Lay out, tack up, and weld simple equipment and components.
  • Assist other welders with complex equipment.
  • Identify and repair weld defects according to quality standards.
  • Make acceptable welds on arm brackets.
  • Recognize and apply weld symbols.
  • Support screen welding and weld all vibratory and optical equipment.
  • Work on complex assignments requiring independent action.
  • Demonstrate ability and interest to weld any item.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1.5 to 7.5 years of industrial welding experience depending on level.
  • Basic GMAW and GTAW welding skills.
  • Knowledge of gas torch and plasma equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

What you'll be running

TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
