Overview

The Electric Motor Coil Winder position offers opportunities for both experienced technicians and entry-level candidates. Experienced technicians will utilize their knowledge in electric motor repair, while entry-level candidates will receive training in motor stripping and winding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform the motor stripping process.
  • Take physical and electrical measurements and verify connections of winding.
  • Strip and remove windings using the Dreisilker MotorSafe method.
  • Insert coils into lamination slots according to connection data.
  • Prepare winding slot insulation by measuring, cutting, folding, and creasing.
  • Assist with dipping, trickling, vacuum pressure, and encapsulation of windings.
  • Inspect windings and coils of electro-mechanical apparatus.
  • Electrically test windings to international standards.
  • Make sample coils in preparation for manufacturing.
  • Manufacture coils using automatic winding machines.
  • Shape winding heads to proper dimension and make electrical connections.
  • Perform basic tests on electric motors.
  • Perform service calls as requested.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years experience reading electrical schematics preferred.
  • Electrical or mechanical aptitude needed.
