Overview

Spartanics designs and manufactures industrial equipment for precision laser converting, card counting, material handling, and custom automation. The Electrical Assembler supports the assembly, soldering, inspection, testing, and repair of electronic and electrical components used in selected Spartanics machine systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic and electrical components, printed circuit boards, wire harnesses, control boards, wiring, connectors, cable assemblies, and related subassemblies used in Spartanics machinery.
  • Perform precision soldering of through-hole and surface-mount (SMD/SMT) components.
  • Operate temperature-controlled soldering stations, hot-air rework equipment, desoldering tools, magnification equipment, and other electronic-assembly tools safely and effectively.
  • Perform component removal, replacement, rework, and repair of printed circuit boards as required.
  • Inspect solder joints, component orientation, polarity, placement, and workmanship for defects.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB documentation, bills of material, assembly drawings, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Build and terminate wiring, connectors, terminals, and cable assemblies.
  • Perform basic continuity, resistance, voltage, and functional checks according to established work instructions.
  • Follow proper ESD protection and component-handling procedures.
  • Access drawings, models, specifications, and assembly documentation using Onshape, AutoCAD, eDrawings, SharePoint, and company ERP systems.
  • Maintain accurate production, assembly, rework, inspection, material-use, and ERP documentation.
  • Maintain organized electronic components, tools, soldering equipment, workstations, and assembly areas.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Controls, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of hands-on experience in electronic assembly, PCB assembly, electrical assembly, electronics manufacturing, machine building, or a closely related environment.
  • Demonstrated experience soldering both through-hole and surface-mount (SMD/SMT) electronic components.
  • Ability to produce clean, consistent, reliable solder joints and recognize common soldering defects.
  • Familiarity with electronic components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, integrated circuits, connectors, printed circuit boards, and related hardware.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, assembly drawings, bills of material, work instructions, part numbers, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using basic electrical test equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers.
  • Strong manual dexterity, visual attention, patience, and a meticulous work ethic suitable for precise and repetitive electronic assembly.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use or learn Onshape, AutoCAD, eDrawings, SharePoint, ERP software, and other electronic manufacturing documentation systems.

Additional Information

  • Standard working hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM based on the assigned schedule.
  • Overtime may be required based on production requirements, machine-build schedules, customer commitments, inventory activities, or other business needs.
  • Work is performed primarily in an active manufacturing and electronic-assembly environment.
