Overview

MechMaxx is a fast-growing heavy equipment brand that offers various outdoor power machinery and operates from multiple warehouses across the U.S. They are seeking a Mechanical Technician to support their service and warehouse team in a hands-on role involving the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, move, and stage heavy equipment using pallet jacks, forklifts, hoists, and manual lifting.
  • Uncrate and assemble incoming machines; crate, palletize, strap, and prepare outgoing machines and parts for shipment.
  • Receive and organize parts, components, and inventory in the warehouse and service area.
  • Keep the shop, warehouse, and yard clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist technicians with pre-delivery inspections, fluid checks, startup tests, and quality control on new units.
  • Learn to diagnose and repair small engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, belts, and electrical components under technician guidance.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs as you progress.
  • Help process warranty and customer return units, including inspection, documentation, and photos of damage or defects.
  • Test repaired machines to confirm they operate correctly before they go back to a customer or into stock.
  • Follow all safety procedures for lifting, lockout, fuel handling, and operating equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift 50+ lbs and assist with team lifts of heavier items.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools.
  • Genuine interest in learning to repair engines, hydraulics, and heavy machinery.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded, with a willingness to take direction and follow procedures.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and outdoor yard work in all seasons.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Preferred: Experience in a warehouse, shop, construction, landscaping, automotive, or similar physically demanding environment.
  • Preferred: Any experience with small engines, hydraulics, outdoor power equipment, automotive repair, or equipment assembly.
  • Preferred: Forklift certification or experience.
  • Preferred: Vocational, trade school, or technical program coursework in diesel, small engine, automotive, or industrial maintenance.
  • Preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Chinese is a plus.
