Overview

California Closets, founded in 1978, is a leader in premium space management, providing custom-designed organizational solutions. The Maintenance Mechanic & Technician role involves coordinating daily maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy wood processing machines while ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and identify heavy wood processing equipment or machines needing repair.
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Inform appropriate personnel of problems affecting production quality and schedules.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance procedures for equipment and building systems.
  • Maintain tools and equipment through proper storage and usage.
  • Ensure facility compliance with local building and fire codes.
  • Set up and maintain maintenance records and project files.
  • Requisition parts, supplies, and raw materials needed for maintenance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance roles with heavy CNC-style machinery.
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Ability to frequently climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand equipment manuals and blueprints.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions and inspect parts produced.
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, squat, kneel, and lift.
