Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Fabrication Specialist to join the Air Dominance Operations team working in the Advanced Composite Fabrication Center (ACFC) located in Mesa, AZ.

Responsibilities

  • Develops lay-up and assembly set-ups and techniques for the fabrication of composite structural and assemblies.
  • Sets up and troubleshoots composite parts for assembly or layup.
  • Assembles, lays up, or supports via autoclave, GFM, and other processes the fabrication of parts and components.
  • Identifies nonconforming detail parts, assemblies and processes and works with engineering to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Fabricates composite detail parts using various pre-preg composite materials and/or wet layup processes.
  • Locates station lines, index points, and E.O.P lines to establish exact locations of ply installations and components.
  • Assembles and installs detail composite and metallic components by bonding, sealing, cementing, and riveting to engineering specifications.
  • Sets up, weighs, mixes and applies composite adhesives per engineering and company specifications.
  • Preps and applies required release agents to composite prototype and or production tooling per company specifications.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of composite material bonding best practices, FOD control and prevention.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must have High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Must have related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience related work experience in Composites.
  • Must have experience interpreting and working from blueprints, sketches and written and verbal instructions, in English.
  • Must be able to work any shift (1st or 2nd shift).
