Overview

The RS Structural Mech III position at GAC Dallas involves performing structural assembly operations with minimal supervision, ensuring conformance to specifications and quality standards. Candidates should have relevant experience and skills in assembly, fitting, and the use of various tools.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations.
  • Safely perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts on aircraft.
  • Rivet structural members, assemblies, and parts using required tools.
  • Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations.
  • Check all work to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.
  • Instruct and assist other team members in interpreting blueprints and engineering orders.
  • Maintain and use all logs and records.
  • Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs and fixtures.
  • Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags and perform necessary rework.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with safety regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate daily job charging to the aircraft.
  • Exchange job-related information and coordinate work activities between shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4 years related structural assembly experience.
  • Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
  • Q-stamp preferred.
  • Basic computer and basic shop math skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.
  • Must be skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of special tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stands, stairs, and work in small spaces.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work any shift.
