Overview

Gigaphoton, an industry leader in advanced Excimer LASERs in the Semiconductor Industry, is seeking a Field Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at customer sites. This role is designed to develop foundational technical, safety, and customer service capabilities for advancement to the Field Service Engineer position.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in structured training to develop technical proficiency in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with on-site installation, maintenance, and repair activities according to established procedures.
  • Learn to use required service tools, systems, and software, including Windows-based applications.
  • Research and help resolve hardware and software issues under guidance.
  • Support root cause analysis by gathering data and documenting findings.
  • Provide logistics support, including moving parts and coordinating shipments.
  • Maintain training schedules and track on-the-job development.
  • Communicate and escalate issues promptly to supervisors.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet business and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or comparable technical training preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude, initiative, and willingness to learn in a technical service environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of laser theory and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to learn and apply designated technical systems and analytical tools.
  • Demonstrated potential to develop effective time management and problem-solving skills.
