Overview

Tesla is seeking a Utility Field Service Technician to support large-scale utility energy assets by troubleshooting, servicing, and upgrading battery and high voltage equipment. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player who can work effectively in various environments and travel extensively.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as defined by the service engineering team.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance activities on stationary battery systems.
  • Maintain a safety focus while working on utility sites.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Develop and follow best practices for maintenance activities related to Tesla Energy equipment.
  • Maintain communication within the Tesla Energy service organization and prepare daily updates.
  • Provide support outside your region and possibly outside the country as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to navigate NEC guidelines and knowledge of NFPA 70E practices.
  • Previous electrical trades experience with power/hand tools and electrical equipment.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 2 weeks at a time with short notice.
  • Ability to work at great heights and in extreme environments.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Office and cloud-based programs.
