At Northrop Grumman, employees have opportunities to work on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. The company is seeking a Machinist 2 for its Armament Systems Business Unit in Mesa, AZ, to contribute to the fabrication of components for advanced weapon systems.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate various components and samples that meet design specifications.
• Operate conventional and numerically controlled machining centers, lathes, and surface grinders on semi-complex jobs.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, planning sheets, and verbal instructions.
• Contribute to initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Perform manual and CNC machine operations including turning, milling, forming, drilling, tapping, and reaming parts.
• Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts.
• Operate hand and power tools to deburr precision and complex machined parts.
• Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments.
• Maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability.
• Implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions for improvement.
• Observe all company policies and procedures, especially safety rules.

Requirements

• High School Degree.
• Minimum of 2 years experience on CNC Lathes and Mills in a machining environment.
• Ability to follow written, electronic, and verbal instructions.
• Experience working in a team environment.
