Overview

The Combo Welder 1 position at Zachry involves performing welding and fabrication activities, assisting with industrial piping systems, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Candidates should have significant welding experience and the ability to work in a challenging industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow direction from supervisors and site management.
  • Perform welding and fabrication activities in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Assist Pipefitters with the installation, repair, and modification of industrial piping systems.
  • Weld using GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) processes.
  • Perform welds in 2G, 4G, and 6G positions.
  • Successfully pass required Zachry welding qualifications or maintain current applicable Zachry welding certifications.
  • Read and interpret drawings, weld procedures, and technical documents.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety requirements and company policies.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of industrial welding experience or completion of a 2-year technical or vocational welding program.
  • Demonstrated industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience welding carbon steel pipe systems.
  • Ability to pass a Zachry welding test if not currently certified.
  • Knowledge of GTAW and SMAW welding processes.
  • Ability to weld 2" Schedule 160 and 4" Schedule 40 pipe.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements of the position.
