Overview

The Mechanical Designer is responsible for heavy industrial piping design and plant layout, translating field sketches into 3D CAD/Solidworks construction documents, managing schedules, and coordinating with project managers and engineers to meet project budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of multi-discipline project execution, construction methods, and local/industry compliance codes.
  • Creating detailed design, process, and construction drawings.
  • Reviewing engineering calculations, specialty item lists, and equipment data sheets.
  • Adhering to project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional disciplines to resolve design conflicts.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or Associate's Degree.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years of background working in heavy industrial piping design and plant layout.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in 3D AutoCAD, Cloud Scanning Software, and Solidworks.
  • Must have Skill Set: P&ID's, Solidworks.
