Overview

GrayWolf is a commercial/industrial construction trade contractor with over 45 years of experience, providing turnkey solutions for Structural and Miscellaneous Steel. The Assistant Project Engineer will assist in managing technical information flow and developing relationships with clients through effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Review design drawings and 3D BIM Models for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate project sequencing and basic detailing job setup.
  • Provide instructions to steel detailers for preparing models and drawings.
  • Monitor project schedules regarding submittals, approvals, and fabrication releases.
  • Organize detailing RFI process and facilitate documentation efforts.
  • Distribute and route drawings while coordinating with Document Control.
  • Act as a liaison between shop, field, detailers, and subcontractors.
  • Communicate with the GrayWolf project team.
  • Assist with the selection and training of incoming and current Project Engineers and Field Engineers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; preference for Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields.
  • Preferred work experience with structural steel projects, including coordination and detailing.
  • Ability to read and interpret design, shop, and erection drawings.
  • General understanding of basic drafting skills and 3D modeling software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, project management software, and CAD/BIM software.

Additional Information

  • This position requires travel to design and coordination meetings, fabrication facilities, and job sites.
