Overview

Philippi-Hagenbuch, Inc. (PHIL) is a global leader in customized off-highway truck haulage enhancements, offering a full-time position for a Welder/Fitter on the first shift. The role involves welding customized products and requires specific welding skills and print reading experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adhering to all safety policies.
  • Performing MIG and dual shield welding.
  • Welding from a variety of positions, e.g. flat, vertical, and overhead.
  • Visually inspecting quality of work.
  • Grinding out inferior quality welds and reworking as needed.
  • Reading and interpreting prints, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials.
  • Performing material handling operations as needed.
  • Operating a hand torch and hand plasma torch.
  • Cross-training to assist in other departments as needed.
  • Clocking to jobs using a barcode scanning system.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the department.

Requirements

  • Print reading and fitting experience preferred.
  • Flat MIG wire welding experience needed.
  • Out-of-position dual shield welding experience preferred.
  • Openness to travel for onsite production installation and warranty work.
  • Ability to drive for travel requirements.
