Overview

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is a Fortune 500 company that specializes in corrugated packaging and white paper products. They are seeking a Maintenance Technician for their South Gate facility to maintain equipment and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on plant equipment.
  • Follow all safety and company policies, including lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment through preventive and routine maintenance.
  • Work necessary hours and shifts and be available on call as needed.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance experience with troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
  • Basic electrical experience and troubleshooting ability.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Physical ability to stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, stoop, and bend.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

  • PCA provides up to 100 paid training hours per year.
  • Technicians supply their own basic hand tools, with a tool stipend provided.
