Overview

At Globus Medical, the Staff CNC Model Maker, Swiss Lathe is responsible for prototype fabrication to support product development, including design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing. The role emphasizes a culture of innovation and collaboration to improve patient outcomes in musculoskeletal disorders.

Responsibilities

• Setup, program, and operate CNC Swiss style lathes to produce prototypes and custom instruments.
• Utilize various CNC and manual equipment including mills, lathes, and EDM for fabricating models, prototypes, test parts, and low volume production of instruments and implants.
• Train, develop, and mentor new hires in machining processes, equipment operation, and departmental procedures.
• Participate and provide input in design meetings and brainstorming sessions.
• Ensure that all machines and measurement equipment are calibrated regularly as needed and in compliance with Globus’ quality system.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing machines to ensure smooth, trouble-free operation.
• Maintain a clean work environment by regular cleaning and upkeep.
• Assist in process/tooling development for manufacturing.
• Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold ethical business practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years direct experience with setup, programming, and operation of Star and/or Citizen Swiss style lathes required.
• Experience in Machining/Tool & Die making or model making, preferably in the medical device area is a plus.
• Ability to proficiently use CNC and manual mills, lathes, and EDM machines is a plus.
• Experience with Esprit, Partmaker, and/or Mastercam software is a plus.
• High school diploma required.
• Proven creative skills in design and ability to improve existing designs.
• Strong self-starter who can work with little or no supervision.
