Overview

The Woodshop Associate is responsible for cutting, gluing, finishing, and building stair components from wood blanks, ensuring high-quality production while working safely with team members to meet production targets.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, glue, build, and finish wood stair parts
  • Understand blueprint drawings and build layouts
  • Identify materials including wood species, thickness, grain, and mill quality
  • Collaborate with team members to creatively build orders and resolve obstacles
  • Read a tape measure to the 1/16”
  • Ensure proper cut quality
  • Setup and operate machinery such as table saws, chop saws, shaper, planer, drill presses, routers, and other tools
  • Maintain proper housekeeping
  • Assist at other machines within the department as needed
  • Support other departments in the plant as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years related experience in construction, contracting, carpentry, woodworking, or cabinetmaking
  • Carpentry and Woodworking Certifications are a plus
  • Math skills including fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform a flat layout
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
  • Pictures of woodworking skills must be sent along with the resume
