Overview

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Associate Overhaul Technician to join their global team focused on building sustainable communities through innovation and problem-solving. The role involves the assembly of overhauled turbomachinery products while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly or disassembly of Solar’s Taurus 70, Mars, and Titan 130 stationary sub-assemblies.
• Work from standard work instructions, engineering drawings, and oral instructions.
• Recognize the need for Engineering support when procedures do not work.
• Embrace safety culture and identify safety improvements.
• Collaborate with team members and Engineering to solve technical problems.
• Maintain training binder and records.
• Perform material routing and movement of turbine and hardware.
• Report and record discrepancies and incidents.
• Maintain records and documentation per the Quality Management System.
• Use precision measuring instruments and shop equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
• Support production needs and continuous improvement projects.
• Attend and participate in team meetings.
• Work required hours to meet production and customer needs.
• Demonstrate proficiency with precision measuring equipment.
• Operate shop and material handling equipment.
• Perform rework as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or trade school certificate.
• Minimum two years hands-on mechanical/turbomachinery experience.
• Minimum two years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate shop equipment and precision measuring instruments.
• Previous mechanical experience and familiarity with hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work specifications.
• Flexibility to change shifts during peak production times.
• Ability to lift/move parts weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software.
• Proven ability to maintain an excellent attendance record.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
• Self-driven with the ability to balance concurrent tasks.
