Overview

The Heat Treater Specialist position at Bell Textron Inc. involves heat treating a variety of steel parts and tools, requiring ingenuity to prevent warping and ensure proper treatment timing. The role is focused on operating various heat treat equipment and requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Heat treat a variety of steel or parts and tools.
  • Prevent warping and calibrate instruments.
  • Pack carburized parts correctly.
  • Select timing for depth of case.
  • Ensure correct heating and treatment timing in electric furnaces.
  • Select proper quenching medium as determined by the Metallurgical Lab or supervision.
  • Operate hardness testing equipment.
  • Occasionally operate cyanide pot.
  • Set-up and operate a Gleason Quenching Press and other high frequency welding or induction heating machines.
  • Start and operate Neutralene Generator and check for proper operating condition.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of heat treater or related experience.
