Overview

The Pressure Pipe Quality Assurance Technologist at Thompson Pipe Group will be the quality voice across engineering, production, and operations, ensuring high standards for the Pressure product line. The company, rooted in Rialto, CA, designs and manufactures a wide range of pipe solutions and is committed to better infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Champion quality for the Pressure product line by partnering with production, operations, engineering, and project management.
  • Interpret codes, specifications, drawings, and procedures to guide daily QA activities.
  • Collect, prepare, process, and report on material samples including welds and concrete.
  • Proctor welder and welding-operator qualification tests; complete all records and logs.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using various measurement tools.
  • Inspect parts and assemblies produced by different departments and qualified vendors.
  • Conduct, evaluate, and document NDE/NDT; coordinate and oversee third-party exam vendors.
  • Independently execute internal audits assigned by Quality leadership.
  • Coach and train less-experienced personnel as directed.
  • Maintain QA paperwork including inspection/test reports and nonconforming product logs.
  • Pursue new or higher-level certifications to advance skills.

Requirements

  • Experience in QA/QC or production within a related industry.
  • Technical strength in concrete, civil, coatings, welding, or NDE/NDT.
  • Level I/equivalent training or certification in ACI Field Testing or NDE/NDT.
  • Level II/equivalent preferred in any of the above; AWS CWI preferred or CAWI.
  • HS diploma or GED required; trade school in related technology is valuable.
  • STEM AA/BS welcomed.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is a plus.
