Overview

The P&C Technician II position involves the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of protection and control devices and related equipment under supervision. The role requires responding to emergency call-outs and ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations while adhering to company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in acceptance and installation tests on protection, control, and measurement devices.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and operation of power line carriers and station SCADA.
  • Perform switching under direct supervision following proper operating authority.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of new equipment or systems.
  • Maintain test and automotive equipment in good working order.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and drawings.
  • Assist employees of equal or higher classification.
  • Perform duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Test protection and control devices periodically.
  • Calibrate protection and control devices on schedule.
  • Assist with diagnosis and corrective action for equipment issues.
  • Operate a computer device for testing and data retrieval.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology, electronic technology, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • No previous work experience required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to complete qualifications for the next higher classification.
  • Must successfully complete Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
  • Considerable travel and overtime may be required.
