Overview

Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is seeking a Plant Welder for the SACROC Gas Processing Facilities in Snyder, TX. The role involves maintaining the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment through various welding and fabrication tasks.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and layout piping systems and structural steel.
• Lead and coordinate assigned plant projects including planning and execution support.
• Perform welding operations on in-service pipe.
• Conduct maintenance on equipment systems and handle emergency repairs.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
• Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.
• Repair equipment using welding techniques and appropriate equipment.
• Lead, direct, and interact with contract personnel.
• Perform and oversee hot cuts and hot tie-ins.
• Ensure general upkeep and maintenance of equipment.
• Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
• Promote the company's EHS philosophy and culture.
• Contribute as a member of the PSM teams.
• Operate a company vehicle.
• Provide welding support to other Kinder Morgan assets as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass welding qualification tests and obtain certifications.
• Knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools, and materials in advanced welding.
• Ability to examine and analyze welds for defects.
• Must maintain ASME B31.3 welding certifications.
• Must maintain stainless steel welding certifications.
• Perform duties safely and efficiently according to company and OSHA guidelines.
• Self-starter with a high drive for results.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work with a team and follow work rules.

Additional Information

• Physical work involving walking, standing, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
• Tasks performed in all weather conditions, in daylight and darkness.
• Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation required.
• Must be on site within 45 minutes of call outs.
• Exposure to process, vessels, and piping systems containing H2S and hydrocarbon gases.
