Overview

The Welder I position involves working in Weld, Round, and Flange to weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Able to read tags.
  • Ability to tack weld with MIG weld.
  • Able to correctly and efficiently flange pipe.
  • Build and stuff wall fittings.
  • Able to correctly change lead and liner.
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure.
  • Setup welder correctly according to specifications.
  • Able to choose the correct shielding gas and attach to welding gun.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school education (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Previous factory experience preferred with 0 to 2 years’ experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic computer skills may be preferred or required.
