Overview

Florida Atlantic Ironworks (FAI) is committed to delivering high-quality structural steel erection services on time and within budget. They seek a driven and solution-focused Steel Erection Welder / Ironworker to join their skilled team, emphasizing precision, safety, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Install structural steel including beams, columns, joists, and decking
  • Align steel components using levels, lasers, and plumb bobs
  • Perform structural welding in accordance with project requirements
  • Bolt and secure steel members into place
  • Signal crane operators to safely hoist materials
  • Assemble steel frameworks and structural components
  • Cut, bend, and weld steel using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Safely operate lifts, hoists, and other jobsite equipment
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions

Requirements

  • Welding experience with current certifications or ability to pass weld tests
  • Experience in structural steel erection preferred
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Knowledge of rigging and signaling
  • Basic to intermediate math skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
  • Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written)
