Overview

Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) for their Atlanta office, offering the chance to work on diverse projects involving various structural materials. The role includes opportunities for professional growth through hands-on experience in structural design and building investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and use of computer design and CAD/BIM software
  • Prepares details and calculations for project components and systems
  • Learns about products and construction procedures
  • Prepares and writes reports
  • Provides field observation during construction
  • Studies and applies building code and/or jurisdictional requirements
  • Reviews shop drawings and product submittals
  • Checks own work
  • Coordinates work with other disciplines
  • Acts proactively and proposes potential solutions to problems
  • Works overtime, when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Environmental, Construction, Structural, or related engineering field
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to work in the Atlanta, GA area
  • Has passed FE Examination
  • Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field (desired)
  • Knowledge of building and material design codes (desired)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills (desired)
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently for extended periods of time (desired)
  • Strong written, technical, and interpersonal skills (desired)
  • Committed to client service and a team-based approach (desired)
  • Experience using Autodesk Revit to produce building construction documents (desired)
  • Experience analyzing structures using RAM, SAP, ETABS, or RISA (desired)
  • Construction field experience (desired)
  • 0-2 years’ experience (desired)
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher (desired)
