Overview

BAE Systems is seeking motivated entry-level Welders for its Submarine program at the Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard. The role involves fabrication and welding tasks essential for submarine manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Weld newly installed structural members and plating.
  • Weld re-installed temporary access openings.
  • Weld on a variety of materials using multiple processes.
  • Weld structural assemblies using GMAW and SMAW.
  • Participate in continuous training on welding processes.
  • Use pneumatic tools such as grinders and wire brushes.
  • Perform oxy/fuel pre-heat and carbon/arc gouging.
  • Read and interpret weld symbols and work packages.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate or current student of UTI-Mooresville.
  • MIG Welding experience or training.
  • Structural welding experience.
  • Vocational or technical training from colleges or apprentice programs.
  • Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to interpret welding procedures and technical documents.
  • Must demonstrate ability to complete technical training outlined in NAVSEA mil std 1688.
  • Requires access to a controlled site with clearance requirements.
