Overview

Intuitive Machines is a cutting-edge space company focused on making cislunar space accessible for public and private customers. They are seeking a skilled Aerospace Welder to ensure the structural integrity and precision of components designed for space missions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision welding on space parts and hardware using advanced welding techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to manufacture space components that meet technical specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications for welding requirements.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery.
  • Work with NDT specialists to inspect welded joints for quality standards.
  • Work with aerospace materials such as titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, and exotic alloys.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for welding and fabrication processes.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of welding experience in aerospace or space industry components.
  • Proficiency in TIG, MIG, Orbital, and other welding techniques for aerospace-grade materials.
  • Strong understanding of welding metallurgy and properties of materials used in space hardware.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to welding and space hardware.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
