Overview

Great Western Trailer (GWT) is hiring skilled and motivated Trailer Technicians for their Houston, TX facility. The company values dedication and skills in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, offering opportunities for career advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and repair semi-trailers, including brakes, wiring, bodywork, lift gates, and more.
  • Install and replace add-on components such as toolboxes, winches, and ramp kits.
  • Perform fabrication and welding as needed.
  • Complete service reports and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Own a personal set of hand tools (except in California).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with semi-trailer equipment and maintenance.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools safely and efficiently.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.

Additional Information

  • Weekday Schedule – Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (No weekends!).
  • Work may be performed in a shop, yard, or mobile service environment.
  • Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and varying temperatures.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels.
