Overview

The Master Maintenance Technician position requires advanced skills in maintenance and mechanical activities to ensure effective operation of equipment. The role involves performing general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs with minimal supervision, while also serving as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections of equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, and service manuals.
  • Support the installation of new equipment.
  • Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Maintain communication with other departments and notify them of any production efficiency concerns.
  • Document all repairs and complete paperwork accurately.
  • Stay updated on new products, equipment, technology, and techniques.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Anticipate parts requirements and follow proper purchasing procedures.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices and corporate regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from trade or technical school preferred in relevant areas.
  • 4 to 6 years of maintenance and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with various equipment including lubrication, cleaning, and packaging equipment.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
  • Certification and/or License may be required during employment.
  • Knowledge of charts, tables, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to inspect equipment and take corrective action.
  • Ability to perform complex maintenance activities independently.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
