Overview

This contract position at Boeing involves performing complex assembly operations on structural parts and aircraft systems. Candidates will work as contract workers through a Boeing approved third party, focusing on building and terminating wiring harnesses for spacecraft.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems
  • Build and terminate wiring harnesses to a high quality for Racks and Boxes
  • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to co-workers
  • Work and take direction from team leader for project completion
  • Confer with supervisors regarding any anticipated production problems
  • Cross-train and mentor new hires
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years experience as a technician in aerospace or equivalent high-reliability field
  • Certification to J-STD-001 space, NASA.STD.8739.4
  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience using hand tools, repairing and troubleshooting electronic components
  • Ability to read schematics, harness wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Applicants must pass a soldering and crimping test
  • Experience working in a clean room
  • Familiar with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications for work documentation
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times
