Overview

The Suspended Platform & BMU Technician III is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of suspended access equipment on commercial high-rise buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance of suspended scaffolding, BMUs, and related systems
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical components
  • Lead installation, commissioning and load testing of new access systems
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOB, and manufacturer safety standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service and inspections
  • Work at heights with proper fall protection and safety gear

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with suspended platforms, BMUs, or rigging systems
  • Familiarity with NYC DOB regulations, OSHA 1910/1926, and ANSI standards
  • Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • SST, OSHA 30, and SPRAT certification a plus
